Requirements for AMT Audition - Deadline for audition is May 18, 2020

Period 7: American Musical Theater (AMT)– AUDITION REQUIRED - Online auditions through May 18, 2020 
  • Headshot - to be uploaded to your personalized Dropbox link
  • Resume - to be uploaded to your personalized Dropbox link
  • 2020-21 Vocal Department Online Registration Form - completed online via the link on the audition information page of vocalbreeze.org 
  • 2020-21 Vocal Department Student and Parent Contract - picture of second page with signatures and date to be uploaded to your personalized Dropbox link
  • 1-minute of Broadway song (memorized) - recording to be uploaded to your personalized Dropbox link
  • 1-minute monologue (memorized) - recording to be uploaded to your personalized Dropbox link
  • Learn Dance Routine - recording to uploaded to your personalized Dropbox link

Dance Audition - Required

​Please watch the Ease On Down movement audition video below to learn the choreography.  When you feel prepared to record the dance audition please use the music track provided and film yourself performing the dance facing the camera. If you have Tap experience please repeat the process with our Tap audition video. There are three sound files of the song Brush Up Your Shakespeare of varying tempos for you to select what best fits your ability. Everyone must provide a recording of themselves performing movement audition. The Tap audition is optional. Once you have completed your dance audition recording, please upload the video to the personalized Dropbox link that you were given after you registered.

AMT Vocal Audition #1 - Required

Please prepare one verse and chorus of a song from a Golden Age Broadway show (1940  - 1960). Please choose a song that highlights your voice and ability.  Accompaniment may be live piano, or a piano (not orchestra) track.  Make sure to dress in school-appropriate, comfortable clothing.  Please be sure that your expression can be seen on the video.  The video should not exceed two minutes. On the video, please include a spoken slate:
  1. Full Name 
  2. Grade in school
  3. Title of song and composer 
  4. Title of Musical and author
Once you have recorded your audition song, the video should be uploaded to the personalized Dropbox link that you were given after you registered so that the video can be reviewed.  


​AMT Vocal Audition #2 - Optional

OPTIONAL - If you would like submit another video, you can submit a Vocal Belt Audition Performance.  Again this is optional.  
Please prepare one verse and chorus of a song from a Broadway show after 1960 (1960 - 2010). Please choose a song that highlights your belt and/or pop ability.  Accompaniment may be live piano, or a piano (not orchestra) track.  Make sure to dress in school-appropriate, comfortable clothing.  Please be sure that your expression can be seen on the video.  The video should not exceed two minutes. On the video, please include a spoken slate:
  1. Full Name 
  2. Grade in school
  3. Title of song and composer 
  4. Title of Musical and author

Monologue Audition - Required

Please prepare a memorized 1-minute monologue of your choice. Please choose a subject and use language that is school- and age-appropriate.  Make sure to dress in school-appropriate, comfortable clothing. The video should not exceed one minute.  On the video, please include a spoken slate:
  1. Full name
  2. Grade in school
  3. Name of monologue 
  4. Name of author and play (if from a play)
Once you have recorded your monologue, the video should be uploaded to the personalized Dropbox link that you were given after you registered so that the video can be reviewed.
